Congratulations Ms. Reem Abdulredha

The Kuwait Cultural Office is pleased to highlight the academic achievement of Ms Reem Abdulredha, Year 2 BSc Pharmacology student at King’s College London.

Ms Abdulredha completed a summer research internship at the University of Brighton under the supervision of Dr Yousif Shamsaldeen, where she developed key laboratory skills including cell culturing, aseptic techniques, and Western blotting.

This research led to the publication of a peer-reviewed article in FEBS Open Bio, with Ms Abdulredha listed as an author:
“Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal-induced retinal cell death in ARPE-19 cells”

The study examined the protective effects of a novel anti-diabetic treatment against retinal cell damage.
