The Kuwait Cultural Office is pleased to highlight the recent achievements of Ms. Sarah Bouyabs, PhD candidate in Pharmacology and Pharmacy at the University of East Anglia.

On September 2, 2025, Ms. Bouyabs presented two academic research posters at the University of East Anglia CPP Research Day:

“Dual Antagonism for P2X4 and P2X7 Receptors: A Novel Strategy for Inflammation and Pain”
First Author – This research investigates an indole-based antagonist targeting both receptors, aiming to reduce redundancies in treating chronic pain and inflammation to improve clinical outcomes.

“Investigating Tetrahydro-β-Carbolines as Pharmacological Modulators of TrkB Receptors”
Collaborating Author – This work explores novel small molecules designed to modulate TrkB receptors, offering potential therapeutic strategies for neurodegenerative disorders.

 These contributions reflect Ms. Bouyabs’ commitment to advancing pharmacological research and her active role in addressing critical challenges in healthcare.
